Keppel FELS is a Singapore Shipbuilding Company specialized in building jack up rigs, semi-submersible rigs, and special-vessels. Keppel FELS and its network of offshore yards have successfully delivered almost half of the world's new build jackup rigs and semisubmersibles in the past decade and we are now looking for a Commercial Executive to join us!

Job Title: Commercial Executive

Working location: Gul Road  

Working hours: Mon – Thur 7.30am- 5.30pm / Friday: 7.30am – 4.30pm (44 Hours Work)

Job scope:

  • Quantify and analyse the basis of cost allocation for procured/subcontracted workscopes.  Seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
  • Be part of the decision-making team that allocates work to suppliers/subcontractors, and may be involved in advising management on the procurement/subcontracting strategy for the project.
  • Consolidate procurement/subcontracting documents for invitations to tender, including bills of quantities and material specifications.
  • Conduct invitations to tender, evaluate quotations and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors, secure internal approvals, and create contracts to conclude with selected suppliers/subcontractors.  Coordinate and expedite delivery of purchased equipment/materials or subcontracted labour.
  • Keep track of any variations to the procured/subcontracted scope that may affect costs and create reports to gauge and record deviations to cost and profitability.
  • Perform quantification and valuation of completed work via detailed calculations, generate cost analyses, and provide assessment and guidance to project managers on supplier/subcontractor claims for original and variation workscopes.
  • Follow through to achieve successful final settlement and close-out with suppliers/subcontractors.

 

Job requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Engineering
  • Prior experience in quantity surveying and subcontracting will be a clear advantage
  • Possess knowledge and skill in negotiation and settlement
  • Resourceful and with good analytical abilities, and a passion for numerical work
  • Enthusiatic and self-motivated
  • Integrity is a must
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills and able to work well with both internal and external stakeholders
