Estimation & Proposal Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and participate in bid initiations and review meetings
  • Evaluate and review of bid documents, specifications, scope of works and drawings
  • Coordinate & follow-up to ensure that post bid clarifications are addressed
  • Submit queries for clarifications on the technical and commercial aspect of the proposals
  • Generate estimated manhours and acquire competitive material and subcontract prices
  • Supply Material Take Off and drawing details necessary to be used as a basis for pricing a tender
  • Prepare preliminary schedule, manpower loading and equipment list for technical proposal
  • Prepare overall cost summary of the project for review by the Head of Department
  • Ensure that commercial submissions to tenders are fully complied with all necessary details
  • Ensure that the Indirect Cost Estimate is correctly prepared and costed
  • Participate in presentations to corporate management and clients
  • Assist in the preparation of subcontract agreements

 

Prerequisites:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience in construction industry
  • In-depth knowledge of project management
  • Good time-management and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver
