Research Fellow (Water Treatment Technologies)
A Research Fellow position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI). Job Responsibilities
Designing and performing experimental work (e.g., bench-top setups and reactors, collection of data, preparation of results) for various waste/water treatment projects under the supervision of the project PIs
Assist in mentoring and supervising research assistants and MS/PhD students
Drafting and writing of research manuscripts / papers to publish experimental results in peer-reviewed journals
Assist PIs and managers in the writing and drafting of research proposals for competitive research funding, research collaborative agreements, etc
Writing and updating of standard operating procedures based on the experiments performed
Operating basic and advanced analytical instruments (e.g. fluorescence meters, automated analysers, GCs/MSs, etc.) and other laboratory hardware/software
Work with NEWRI engineering team to maintain experimental laboratory setups
Job Requirements
Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering or related disciplines. Ph.D. thesis preferably in water treatment technologies such as membrane technology
Experience in laboratory techniques/bench-top chemistry, particularly in water treatment technologies such as membrane technology, are highly preferred
Highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and keen eye for details
Perform laboratory work with minimal supervision
Able to simultaneously supervise junior researchers (e.g., research assistants, students) while performing lab work
Good interpersonal skills, good writing and communication skills in English
